Marmalade is an NFT smart contract system in Kadena’s blockchain, which is simply a system of multiple contracts that programs and runs logic configured by the token policies that the token is built with. Marmalade has been in action for several years, and now we’ve diligently upgraded to Marmalade V2, encapsulating an entirely new system and simplifying the process of engaging with NFTs. Most excitingly, Marmalade V2 is now live on testnet!

Today, we’re shining the spotlight on KadenAI, an innovative platform engineered to enhance the creator experience in the NFT space. KadenAI offers a suite of comprehensive tools designed to facilitate the creation of NFT collections. These tools include, but are not limited to, NFT minters, utility generators, and AI-powered image generation.

Web3 is not only a finance revolution, it’s also a business evolution that harnesses powerful ideas such as the Wisdom of Crowds, composability, collaboration, decentralized storage, and headless branding. Prior to web3, these concepts were either impossible to implement or didn’t meet business standards. In this new paradigm, these ideas are multipliers that can launch web2 businesses into an ecosystem that is growing exponentially in every direction.

Marmalade token policies allow for fine-grained customization of how NFTs are minted and sold. This article provides a tutorial demonstrating how an NFT collection supporting presale could be implemented in your NFT marketplace, using an example policy ‘simple-one-off-collection-policy`. This tutorial will demonstrate the policy step-by-step with an example collection called muppets-v1.

To end 2022 with a bang, we are excited to announce our last feature upgrade of the year! The Marmalade team at Kadena has worked hard and is now rolling out an upgrade to the Marmalade contract with a new feature ttoken protocol. This new token protocol will increase safety for our developers during the lazy minting process! Let’s dive right in.

We have been steadily growing an all-star team as our team needed to be up to par with our all-star core Haskellers at Kadena. We currently have a team of 7 developers working on dev experience, which will grow to 12 by the end of the year. Growing this team this fast already points out the importance of the developer experience for Kadena. There is a lot of great stuff coming to our ecosystem, so fasten your seatbelt because next year will be like “The Fast and the Furious — K-orbit” 🚀!!
